Meet Our Teachers
All National University Virtual High School teachers are considered NCLB “highly qualified” under federal legislation. Each teacher has a California single subject teaching credential in the subject area(s) they teach in, are fingerprinted and have been subjected to a comprehensive background check. The NUVHS teachers are highly skilled in education technology, online instruction, and all regularly participate in professional development activities aimed towards keeping them current on educational trends and teaching techniques.
The majority of NUVHS teachers have master’s degrees and more than one teaching credential. Minimum requirements for becoming a NUVHS teacher are: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution, possession of a California Single Subject Teaching Credential, a computer which meets the minimum system requirements, and willingness to submit to a comprehensive background check. All applicants will be reviewed by the Program Manager of Curriculum and Instruction for compliance.
